Sky kennels donated by Sandra and Ralf 2008-03-10

Tom and Ingrid got a phone call from Sandra and Ralf if animal care samos could use some sky kennels. Of course we can! We use the kennels in summer time when it is to hot for the dogs to go by a road transport. So they go by plane, much nicer for the dogs! Tom and ingrid went this weekend to pick up the kennels. Thank you very very much Sandra and Ralf!

Fooddonation by eukanuba 2008-03-10

We got a call from the dutch eukanaba if we could use some of their dog food. Of course we can and before we knew it they brought us 600 kg of quality dog food! thanks a lot eukanuba!

We received a paint donation from paintshop: Univerf-colorite in Amsterdam. That means we can paint the shelter again this year, which is always needed after the winter in Samos. We would like to thank Klaas Rob and Ineke from Univerf-colorite! Also we would like to thank them for putting a collection box in their shop.

The one and only and best dumpstore from Holland once again donated a lot of goods for the animals on Samos. ARMY-DUMP in Heukelum run by Jan and Kathleen van Gelder all ready support us for many years now. This tim they aranged some realy good stuff for us once again! Blankets, special mats, a lot of medical equipment and clothes and shoes for the volunteers. In the past they allready donated steriliser kits a microscope a suction machine, rubbergloves and more! We would like to thank Jan and Kathleen van Gelder for their ongoing support. And also for adopting two of our dogs Samos and Ella (see happy endings)

Donation of materials and goods by Corry van Velzen 2007-11-19

We would like to thank Corry van Velzen for collecting a lot of materials we can use very well! Also she inspired people to become a member of our charity! The money she collected is well used for buying much needed vaccinations and medicines. Also we would like to thank the animal shelter in Hoorn and corries neighbour and everybody who helped making this action a big succes. Everything is now in samos brought by Farida and Peter in the last transport.

Big donation due an exposition by Thenya Ruhe 2007-11-02

Thenya Ruhe a photographer from Holland she visited the shelter a few years ago for the first time as a tourist. Since then she came back every time with her family, and walked some dogs every time and always took back dogs to Holland for rehoming. Last week she had an exposition with her pictures inspired by her traveling in Cuba and Greece and also by everyday life in Amsterdam. She donated all the money she got by selling pictures and some Animal Care Samos calenders to Animal Care Samos. The total amount of money raised was the sum of € 650,- !! Donation. 2007-10-22

We would like to thank the customers of hairdresserssalon Lorentz in Wuppertall Germany who left behind their donations in the animal care samos donation box. Brita donated the big amount of € 250,-! This donation will soon be used for the next foodtransport to samos. Unfortunately Brita wasn't able to bring it to the samos shelter this time herself but we hope to see her next year in Samos again! Thank you very much!

Once more we received a big donation of paint by schildersbedrijf Ruud en Jacqueline van Etten from Wognum. We are planning to continue improving the shelter again in October, and we can use the paint than really well, thank you very much!

11 year old Lucas organised a collection campaign on his school for the animals on Samos. He and his family adopted a dog from Animal Care Samos called Aspro who is now living happily in Holland. This great initiative resulted in loads of blankets, towels and some very usefull benches, and a basket. We would like to thank Lucas for his great action!

Giant food donation 2007-08-11

A giant food donation out of Denmark, A danish animal welfare organisation called GRAEKSE HUNDE received a giant dogfood donation by Vet XX an animal food and medicine mafacturer.A total amount of 70 ton! They contacted Greek Animal Rescue and ask them to divide this food among different animal welfare organisations in Greece. The problem was that everything had to be arranged quickly because vet XX really needed the rise space. After examinig several possibilities it was decided that the food was to be brought to Holland where Animal Care Samos Holland will take care of the distribution of the food. The transport from Denmark to Holland was taken care of by Transport comapany Henk v.d Scheur from Apeldoorn, they arranged 6 trucks to get the job done.And it was done perfect! Greek Animal Rescue financed this transport with more than 4000 EUR! TIRU TRANSPORT arranged a space to stock the food and arranged to get it all out of the trucks. Than it was still needed to find a way to get it from Amsterdam to Greece... Gerrit v.d Vaart a big doglover, has two greekies himself, is the boss from All Transport Rotterdam. He was able to offer us a megadeal in getting the food transported to Greece At this moment there is allready 9000 Kg delivered at different shelters aroud Greece. This all free of charge by ALL TRANSPORT ROTTERDAM, we can't thank them enough! Also an amount of food will go to Greek islands, there is all ready 800 Kg in Samos brought by a van.
